“Star Wars” Collectibles
“Star Wars” is an epic science fiction franchise initially conceived by George Lucas in the 1970s. It has spawned six movies that, as of 2008, were the third-highest grossing film series of all time. “Star Wars” became a pop culture phenomenon almost immediately following the 1977 release of the first film, and the franchise has expanded exponentially to include novels, TV series, video games, comic books, and hundreds of other collectible items, including action figures, jewelry, watches, and dishes.
“Star Wars” has some of the most loyal fans in the galaxy. There are many local and regional “Star Wars” collecting clubs throughout the world in addition to a number of books and websites devoted to the archiving, sales, and value of “Star Wars” collectibles both past and present.
